Formula Renault North Eurocup champion Carlos Sainz Jr leapt to the top of the times in the closing stages of the second day of the British Formula 3 International Series test at Snetterton, which took place in wet conditions. The Carlin-run Spaniard bounced back after spinning off earlier in the afternoon and, with a new front wing added, he ended up the best part of seven tenths clear of the field. His Dallara-VW completed three laps that were quicker than the best anyone else managed.
